Edited by: Richard Aiel on 23/02/2007 06:07:57 Hmmmm... I may be in the tinfoil hat crowd here but im seeing a bad trend here... trying to push ppl onto 0.0 but helping certain 0.0 alliances become meaner and bigger... It seems to me that CCP is trying to feed its sponsored corps. Also seems to me that theyre posting this up now to draw attention away from other important things... like doing something with the nodes. ESPECIALLY now that more ppl are gonna be in 0.0, that means bigger groups are gonna fly around, and the nodecrash floodgates open :p Yeah, this looks like a bright future of EVE Maybe they named it Revelations after the last book in the bible where the world as we know it comes to an end and very bad things happen :p

Originally by: Slif I would like to throw my two cents in on this one.. specifically to the "this is a PVP oriented game" part. Last time I checked this was a PLAYERS game. There are alot of other play styles that have nothing to do with PVP. I play to relax and have fun, just like the next guy.. and for me that means a bit of mining and running missions. I live in empire and mostly enjoy it there, though I am getting a bit tired of seeing all the great stuff going to 0.0. This game use to have a good balance between safe and unsafe space, with things for all to enjoy. Lately this has been changing and not in positive ways. I agree that changes need to be made, but lets benefit all play types, not just the kind of play you seem to enjoy.
Right! last I checked, it still says EVE is a MMORPG not a MMOPVPG, meaning there IS MORE or SHOULD BE MORE to the game than just PVP, *looks around the restaurant then look at his mate* "I wouldnt be greatly surprised if a little band came in and started playing *hums the Star Wars Cantina theme*" |

Originally by: Larake Edited by: Larake on 24/02/2007 15:19:34 Not happy with all this emphasise on moving all the good stuff in low sec and 0.0. I believe the majority of people play the game for good fun where it is to be found in Empire.
I am concerned these mission changes will take the fun in Empire away since low sec and 0.0 are just full of smacktards and chestbeaters. I believe there is no fun to be found in putting up with that sort of behavoir from players everyday. I believe this is the real reason why the majority of people simply dont go there.
I am very concerned that these changes will take the fun out of Empire and instead of encouraging people go to low sec and 0.0 as intended. The majority of people will probably leave and find fun ans satisfaction in other games.
I hope this possible consequence of the changes have been considered by CCP.
I have the funny feeling that this is EXACTLY what CCP is going for. For all the "carebears", high sec missioners, and those who wont go into lower sec areas to leave the game so that more PVPers come into the game. It seems that recently, CCP has started to cater more toward the gankers, "smacktards" and "chestbeaters" anyway. I believe that they are trying to make this a PVP only game. Like I said in another post, they should retitle it on the front page from MMORPG to MMOPVPG then to lessen confusion. As CCP's future plans become more arrogant seeming and less in line with the PVErs, they will leave, only to be replaced by arrogant PVPers, and CCP will have their wish. Birds of a feather and all after all... If the majority of the player base ends up being arrogant *******s, whats that say about the people that brought them here in the first place?
and for the "if you dont like it you can get out" guys, I will be. No you cant have my stuff, Im giving it to my corp. Not that I really have anything lol

Originally by: Dominious There are many many mature pirates that play the game and abide by the legal mechanics of the game. But there are also an infestation of 12-year-old kids that I guess for the lack of insects to torture in real life are resorting to griefing players ANY chance that they get in-game. Remember the abuse of probes in High Ssec? Absolutely no point to probing missioners in High Sec other than to steal cricital loot and aggro whole stages. All for what? To grief. These changes are going to feed these kids' egoes and bring even more of them into the game. This is the main reason I stay in High Sec. Fix the griefing problem and I'll go to Low Sec.
Like I said, I think thats CCP's goal *looks around the restaurant then look at his mate* "I wouldnt be greatly surprised if a little band came in and started playing *hums the Star Wars Cantina theme*" |

The whole no bounties but you get stuff to sell thing reminds me of loot drops in WoW... Are we gonna have to start running DKP to do missions now? *looks around the restaurant then look at his mate* "I wouldnt be greatly surprised if a little band came in and started playing *hums the Star Wars Cantina theme*" |

Originally by: CPL Nobbes Oveur in your latest posts you sound a bit confused and to be honest annoyed. I would suggest this is because you quite plainly have no idea of what high sec missioning is about, what goes on in the minds of those who enjoy it or the concept that not everyone devotes themselves to an MMO 24/7. So here is some help. It's all been said many many times in the previous pages but I feel you are having trouble understanding. 1. There are many individuals and small scale corps that ONLY run lvl4's in high sec. Thats all they. Nothing else. 2. These people currently enjoy there time in Eve as it stands. 2a. They would enjoy some higher level missions that are practically impossible to do solo in the most uber of uber CNR's, with out the added aggravation of gank teams having their fun by ensuring no one else has any. 3. Removal of the most challenging lvl 4's into low sec and replacing them with plenty of less challenging missions more focused on your dream of faction warfare is considered a bad thing. Dont like that. Tough it's what a lot of people think. Get used to it. No amount of buffing or outright propaganda is going to change that. 4. Your quote about only providing choices not forcing has only made you look more arrogant and uncaring because it was quite plainly a load of rubbish. Don't political double speak, you are not very good at it and most can see through it. 5. You complained about the lack of suggestions vice whining. Have you actually read any of the posts. Practically every one of them has a suggestion of one sort or another. I rather suspect you are unhappy that the majority do not support your vision of high sec without challenges for well skilled BS pilots. 6. In the main new content is not the issue even though you have tried to imply it is. The issue is removal of current content to places a lot of people do not want to go. 7. Perhaps you would favour us all with a short list of things that you and your crew consider "too lucrative for high sec", and why. 8. you may not consider the death of high sec lvl 4 missioning as the end of the world but just the mere fact you said that 12 pages into the debate proves you have no concept of what the world of eve actually is to a lot of your paying customers. I mean come on, you just had over a dozen pages of people saying it WAS the bloody end of the world as far as they are concerned.
So if you really want some suggestions here we go 1. Actually listen to the casual and part time eve community and do it from their point of view not the one you currently have. 2. Keep all high sec missions at all levels as challenging and difficult as low sec, just ensure low sec has higher rewards. 3. Forget this idea that Devs will find a way to make low sec the place of choice for a large amount of people. You wont. It's as simple as that. 4. If point 3 is really that much of a burden on CCP then at least have the ******* to be honest about it. So there it is. If I have been a bit too impolite in places I apologise, but everything I have said I feel needed to be said.
/signed!!! /signed!!! /signed!!! /signed!!!
The very fact that you guys think you arent forcing PVP on us by removing our main money sources in high sec and moving them to gankville is rediculous. Right. Though you arent DIRECTLY forcing us to PVP, you ARE moving our lucrative missions into areas where it will assure that we meet up with pirates and get killed, but thats not FORCING it right? *looks around the restaurant then look at his mate* "I wouldnt be greatly surprised if a little band came in and started playing *hums the Star Wars Cantina theme*" |

Originally by: aldruitanzaro If this is converted in such a way, the large alliances (BOB, D2, RA, Goons etc.) still more is pushed over to money. all other players lose the desire at the play.
Only my grant opinion
sorry for my bad english
into german:
wenn dies so umgesetzt wird ,wird den groŻen Alianzen(BOB,D2,RA,Goons u.s.w.)nur noch mehr geld zugeschoben. alle anderen spieler verlieren die lust am spiel.
nur meine bescheiden Meinung

Originally by: Different Tan The getting ganked while at a mission is easy to fix. Currently you cannot use a MWD in deadspace. Ok. Add warp jammers/disruptors to the list. Now if another player enters the mission area your PVE fitted vunerable pilot can warp out. Unless you bump them to kingdom come
Well its actually even easier... Make the deadspace areas that are missions (and only for missions) so that people that arent in a person's gang cant jump into the area. *looks around the restaurant then look at his mate* "I wouldnt be greatly surprised if a little band came in and started playing *hums the Star Wars Cantina theme*" |

If you want those bigger fights then why don't you hop on out to 0.0 to get them?
Cause the thought gank bear comes to mind

dont wanna risk the ship getting blown up from something that might either fire back or damage the ship...

See, the problem seems to be that the Devs/GMs are power player types and (as seen in other threads) have the characters to back them up. Its seems that theyre just interested in this being a power gamer type game.
Casual gamers not welcome Power 23/7 only *looks around the restaurant then look at his mate* "I wouldnt be greatly surprised if a little band came in and started playing *hums the Star Wars Cantina theme*" |
